Three calls to make this week
Ask the close-in employers about December
Hood River Juice, Trillium, Tofurky, Skyline Health and the hospital are all within ten minutes of the tasting room. With December about two months out, call David Ryan, Rebekah Larsen, Adriana Garcia and Bill Momsen at Trillium this week and ask one thing, whether this year's staff party has a room yet. The Columbia Gorge Fruit Growers hold their December member meeting somewhere new each year, so ask them the same, and ask Brandi Sheppard about next year's Hearts of Gold evening.
Get on the planners' lists for next year's weddings
Elody Zuniga, Emee Pumarega, Rose & Fern and Your Perfect Bridesmaid run weddings at Griffin House, Skamania Lodge and Wind Mountain Ranch, and Blaine Franger and Jen Jones sit on Gorge venues' preferred photographer lists. Those couples still need a rehearsal or welcome dinner nearby. Invite the planners and photographers to an evening in the Library Room while next year's weddings are being planned, so the estate is on the list they hand couples. Visit Hood River's venue list for planners does not carry the estate today.
Give hotel and cruise group sales an evening to sell
Columbia Cliff Villas has no restaurant or bar, and Lightwell and the Rayland seat 60 or fewer, so their larger groups need a second room. Call Steve Tessmer and Kathleen O'Connor McNew with a standing evening offer they can quote. American Cruise Lines docks six minutes away and its Hood River day has no winery stop today, and from next May its new cruise starts and ends at Stevenson, twenty-five minutes west, each month through September. Kieron Wilde at First Nature Tours builds custom group programs and can fold the evening into them.
